So Valentines Day wasn't bad for a cheesy, romantic comedy. The snack food ended up not being my friend. The popcorn made an encore performance a few hours later. Yuck!

Yesterday I went to get my annual vehicle inspection. That's two hours of my life that I'll never get back, and I haven't even gone to the county clerk's office to get my renewal sticker. Gosh, our city government really sucks a big one!

I think we have decided to go get 3D ultrasound during the second week of March, so we can find out the baby's gender at 17 weeks, instead of waiting until my 20 week 2D ultrasound. I know it's just a three week difference, but that is an eternity when waiting to know what you're having.

We are so very ready for the Olympics to be over, so some new TV can come back on again. They were great at first, but they just seem to be dragging on and on. A pregnant woman has so little that she allowed to do. I really need my television entertainment. It's the only thing I have left right now. I guess it will be back next week though. Right? It will be back next week?

Well I'm about to sit down to watch Days of Our Lives on dvr. At least the Olympics are screwing it up.

Week 14=Little Lemon

Unfortunately I was still feeling like a bunch of crap the last month..... hence the lack of blog updates. I think it's getting better, knock on wood. It seems like every time that I think or say that the crap feeling comes back. Hopefully not this time though.

So here's what's up with our little monster this week (courtesy of babycenter.com):

"This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb.

In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces. His body's growing faster than his head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, his arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of his body. (His legs still have some lengthening to do.) He's starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over his body. Your baby's liver starts making bile this week — a sign that it's doing its job right — and his spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells. Though you can't feel his tiny punches and kicks yet, your little pugilist's hands and feet (which now measure about 1/2 inch long) are more flexible and active."

So far today I did my prenatal yoga dvd for the first time, and it felt pretty good. I'm feeling like my little one is going to be a yogi!

Now I'm thinking I'll get out to go see "Valentines Day". Cheesy movies aren't usually my thing, but it looks cute and feels like a good choice today. Plus it will give me an excuse to pig out on some salty popcorn ( which surprisingly is a good source of whole grain, who knew), and I'm sneaking in some big, juicy, sour pickles too. Yum!!!

I'll report back with a revue of the movie (and the snacks) soon.

Hope everyone is having a happy Monday!
