My Newest Obsession

Every now and then I get fixated on some particular type of clothing. For a while that has been scarves, warmer ones for the winter and lighter weight ones for the summer.

But that is old news now. My most recent infatuation is with Junk Food vintage concert tees. You may have noticed me wearing some in photos on my recent posts.

I currently own this one:

And this one:
I'm ordering this one as soon as it's back in stock:
I also have my eye on these:

Obviously I like the classic rock tees, but they make 80's bands, punk, and hip-hop ones too. If you've never tried on a Junk Food tee, they're super soft and comfy. They run small (I usually wear a small, sometimes extra small, in most brands but a medium on Junk Food tees). They also make men's concert tees for your husbands or boyfriends ( and kids sizes too). Check 'em out!

What is your current fashion obsession you find yourself buying multiples of? Or am I the only one who gets stuck on something and ends up with a "collection"?

EDIT: If you find a tee you like on 80stees.com us the code BeamMeUp for 20% off through April 6th.

J Crew Dress

I needed a little retail therapy today so I took a trip out to the suburbs to the J Crew. I found a great dress and wanted to post a picture of it. When I checked the website it wasn't there (??), but I did see an adorable dress that's on sale. I used Polyvore and put a little outfit together. I put accessories that contrasted the warm color of the dress to keep the outfit from looking too brassy. I really wanted to find a pair of peep toe or d'orsay pumps in a darker pewter, but you get the idea.
Find me on Polyvore

The price point on the dress is great. It is on sale for $98, and I thought it would be perfect to wear to a wedding or fancier shower. Depending on your size it's also available in lilac and/or light pewter. It's a cotton/silk blend so it would be perfect for a hot Memphis summer.

Gap Dress and Invitation Etiquette

The dress I order from The Gap just got delivered, and I think it's pretty cute. I'm going to try it on for Greg later to get a second opinion. I'll report back what he thought, and if it had any bearing on my opinion of the dress. He says that I usually do the opposite of whatever his opinion is on fashion and decorating, and he's right. Not intentionally. It just happens that way:)

I haven't really talked about this yet, but I'm in my friend Jessica'a wedding in June. I've been waiting until she sign's up to follow, so I can introduce her and discuss her upcoming nuptials. She hasn't yet though, and something has come up in the planning that I would love to have some more opinions on.

I am planning her lingerie shower/bachelorette party for the end of May ( I'm very excited to be doing this since planing a fun night out is my forte and I'm so honored she asked me to be a bridesmaid). This week I got her guest list from her and finalized the details with her. I was planning to order the invitations this week so I could be sure to get them out at least five weeks before the party.

Today her maid of honor, who I don't know well at all, told her that was too early to send out the invites. She said she was sending out the invitations to the bridal shower brunch that she's throwing 2 weeks before hand.

I've always sent out invites at least four weeks before if all guests are in town, and six weeks if any guest are traveling in town. This girl works for a printing company so maybe I'm wrong, but to get an invite two weeks before an event would be strange to me. Or have I been showing poor etiquette by sending invites too early?

It's not my reputation if she's wrong, but a lot of Jess's fiance's family are going to be invited to the brunch. I don't want something that is out of her control to make a bad impression.

What do y'all think?

Shopping Trip to O.N.

I've been boring, even to myself, the past few days. I didn't think anyone would want to hear about anything I've been up to.

I have been going to the gym and eating pretty much like I said I was going to ( I did 30caloires worth of sweet tarts) so snaps for me. I know it's only been like 3 days but whatevs.

I had a little cash burning a whole in my pocket today, so I stopped by Old Navy. Am I the only one that their clothes don't fit? I always think their stuff is so cute online and on the hanger, but it never looks quite right on me. It usually looks like I'm spilling out of my top. I am a little top heavy and not proportionate, but if I go into upscale boutique everything fits me fine. So does that mean I have to spend a ton of money on clothes because I was blessed with a chest?

I know more girls than just me have to be dealing with this, especially considering the amount of breast augmentations that are done. I think since they have special stores for heavy people they should also have stores for just top heavy people.

Or Old Navy should stop discriminating against breast!

I did find a cute skirt and a few tanks though.

The purple skirt also comes in a green or yellow combination. I love the darker grey tank, it's a dark pewter color. FYI the tanks there seem to thankfully be shorter this year. I could not stand that almost mini-dress length last year.

OK I have to go back to work now, but I'll post those photos with my Sis later.

Things I Want

My 29th birthday is coming up  on 3 11! Here are some the things I'm coveting right now that I wouldn't mind being gifted. I'm even being budgetary since we're in a recession/depression!

Urban Outfitters

I need a pair of black flat sandals because mine from last year got lost somehow. Oopsy!

J Crew

I have these from last year in several colors and wear them all the time. I'm sure I'll get even more wear out of these more neutral since mine from last year are brighter colors.
