Check This Out! Especially My Memphis Peps

Emily, from Life As I Know It From Memphis,  just posted some info on a new Memphis blog that has me super excited. Check her post out

This makes me super happy because Memphis is not the best about promoting the great things that go on here. I can't tell you how often I hear about some great event, that I would have loved to attend, after the fact.

Thanks Emily!

Downtown Memphis Farmer's Market

The Memphis Farmers Market at the Central Train Station downtown is starting up again April 18th. It will be every Saturday from then until Mid-October 7am- 1pm.

I haven't made it down there in years past because I work on Saturday mornings (unless we're out of town), but this year I'm taking a morning off to go.

I really want to check out the Windmere Farms stand ( warning: their website is a little heavy on the religious thing). They are our local certified organic farm, and they even have organic strawberries, which are really difficult to grow organically.

If you have a free Saturday morning check it out and grab some yummy produce or some fresh flowers! Oh joy, the tastes and fragrances of summer are almost here.

Dinstuhl's Chocolate Covered Strawberries

I almost forgot to mention another wonderful birthday treat Greg got for me on Saturday. The best sweet thing  on this planet, chocolate covered strawberries from Dinstuhl's!

If you don't know, Dinstuhl's is a local candy company/ chocolate maker. They make delights such as mallo hash, divinity, and pecan (pee - can) fudge. But the most delightful concoction comes in the spring.

As soon as our strawberries become ripe, sweet, and juicy they cover them in fondant and dip them in milk chocolate. This makes the juiciest sweet thing you'll ever put in your mouth. It's kinda like a chocolate covered cherry with all the syrup inside, but instead of cheap syrup it's the perfect blend of sugar and the strawberry's own juices. They must be eaten standing over the sink, and within a short amount of time due to expiration date ( DARN!).

If you can get to a Dinstuhl's while they are in season , then do! Go now and go often! If you can't, then just drool over this picture and that's more for me.

Here's the website info: http://www.dinstuhls.com/

Muddy's Is Trying To Blimp Me Up!

Does everyone know that I can literally see Muddy's Bake Shop from my station at work? The temptation is unbearable. Not only do I cave about three times (or more) a week and get a cupcake or toffee bar , but usually one of my clients brings me in something at least once a week. Add it up. That's at least four treats a week! That also doesn't include the random snickers bar or Chik-fil-a milkshake I make Greg bring home to me. It's a wonder I'm not in a diabetic comma this very moment. Is there a support /rehab group for sweetsaholics?
If anyone has not been to Muddy's yet please join in my sickness. It's heaven in a cupcake!!!!
