Greg's Graduation

My husband's graduation from Christian Brothers University last Friday afternoon was wonderful! Not only was it the end of a long journey over the past few years, but he was also surprised with two special awards at the end of the ceremony.

One was for the highest GPA in the school of business, and the other was the highest GPA in the entire 2009 graduating class. To be fair he did have to share the second with another girl because they both had perfect 4.0s.

So that's right.... I'm married to a valedictorian. I know you're probably as shocked as I am that I would be married to such a smarty pants after reading my "lovely" writing style and "extensive" vocabulary in my posts ( especially since I don't even know how to spell valedictorian). I even thought about not using spell check on this post to show you just how dumb I can be, but decided that my hurt my pride a little too much. Well at least I'm the one who married for intelligence!

Because the ceremony was at such a funky time and Greg had to be on site by 2 in the afternoon, this is the only photo I have with him in his cap and gown.
He had to run over while they were walking out to take this photo with me as I was leaning over the railing. You totally can't even see my cute JCrew summery dress. And I have fat arm because I'm smushing it into my side. My priorities are so skewed.

Anyways from here on out Greg will be known as Greg 4.0 or just 4.0! Or at least he says he will!

Congratulations Greg

Greg got his grades yesterday from his last mini semester ( he does accelerated 8 week semesters), and he got all A's again. He thinks now he will graduate from CBU in May with a 4.0,  no problem. I'm so proud of you! I can't wait until May when we can have a normal life again and no longer be poor. It's really expensive to have a kid a college when you're in your 20's and 30's!

More Greg!

A friend has requested to see more of Greg on my blog, so I'm posting some photos of him.

This is at his 30th birthday. I threw him a surprise party in the theme of 1974 (the year he was born). This is the outfit I got him for the party. You can't see in the picture, but he has on denim bell bottoms.

Here is one of Greg on our honeymoon in St Croix in front of a random palm tree.

This is Greg riding a mechanical bull.

This is on our trip to Disney World.

Another Snow Day!

Today we took Daisy to my Mom and Step-dad's house in Mississippi to play in the snow. We stopped by Krispy Kreme on the way to pick up doughnuts (1 dozen galzed 1 dozen glazed-chocolate for 4 people; Oink! Oink!). These are my parent's dogs, Buckley and Maggie, in their rain jackets. I'm sure they would have snow clothes if it snowed more than twice a year here. They are Yorkshire Terriors (Yorkies) by the way. Here is Greg, Daisy, and me with the snowman we built. Daisy did most of the work.

This is a video of Greg and my step-dad, Jay, having a snowball fight.

Now we're in side sitting by the fire and playing Wii. The dogs are completely pooped, adn I thinking it's about to time to to pour a rum and coke. As my friend Erika's grandfather Jack would say " It's 5 o'clock somewhere!".

Greg Really is Ill

OK, I  really feel bad now. Greg went to the doctor today and found  out he has pneumonia. She actually told him that if he didn't get in today or tomorrow he would of had to be hospitalized. He had to get a shot and like three medications. Poor Greg. I got him o.j., chicken soup, and popsicles to help nurse him back to health. He has to stay home from school and work for the rest of the week. That will make him feel way worse than pneumonia ever could. I'll keep you updated on his recovery.

Greg's Birthday Made Him Sick

Greg's 35th birthday was Saturday. I surprised him by having his friends Brian, Chase, and Jonathan come in town Saturday afternoon. I bought us tickets to The Derek Trucks Band at The New Daisy on Beale for that night. My friend Marcy also ended up coming in town from Martin,TN and going with us. We had entirely too much fun, probably due to starting way to early. Most of the shows at the Daisy are apparently now all ages and therefor start at 8pm. It's one thing if you're going to a concert to go that early, but to see a band in a bar style venue that's not good. I just didn't know how to pace my party for that. I truly meant to to take some photos that night. I remembered my camera and everything, but unfortunately I didn't pull it out of my purse until the end of the night after many cocktails and shots ( I never do shots; what was I thinking?). So the only photo I'm posting is one of Marcy and me at Red Rooster looking pretty rough. I figured ya'll wouldn't want to see the shots I took of the floor or backs of people's heads. Sorry, I didn't even get a single one of Greg.

So now this morning Greg is at the doctor's because he is sick. He says his chest hurts, or in boy terms "he is having a heart attack". It's more likely a Marlboro ultra-light attack. I'll let everyone know later what the doctor says. Birthdays always make us sick.

Thanks everyone for coming in town to help us celebrate! I know it really meant a lot to Greg.

Real Hot Messes!
