Noah's Road

Today my friend Stephanie, who now lives in DC, called me with a heartbreaking story.

When Steph and her husband where in their birthing class they became close with two of the other couples. They have gotten closer having play dates with their babies and outings with the parents. It's been a blessing for her to find great people to share this special time in her life being so far from home. I know she is grateful for their friendship, and I'm grateful she has them since her friends and family here can't be there.

On April 20th one of these family's lives changed forever. They dropped their little boy Noah of at their child-care-giver's home for the day. Erin, the mom, had painstakingly searched for a qualified person to watch her son. She interviewed and rejected many candidates before choosing a women that she thought would love her son like her own. Unfortunately, that was not the case.

Now her son is in the hospital fighting for his life suffering from Shaken Baby Syndrome.

Please visit their blog Noah's Road, and please send them your prayer and/or positive thoughts for their son to make a complete recovery. If you could pass this along to others or post it on your blog that would be great too.

Even with these being so recent and fresh, Erin and Mike are trying to use this event to educate caregivers, babysitters, and other parents on this issue. My heart goes out to you, Mike, Erin, and Noah.

  5. She is in jail without bond. The family's focus right now is the recovery of their son and educating others on how easily this can happen.
